The Ouroboros Challenge — a mind-melting math quest
A single sealed vault. Seven riddles woven into one impossible-looking equation. One unique 6-digit code opens it. Can you be the first to prove it?

The Puzzle — Read every word carefully
- Split the six digits into three consecutive two-digit numbers: A, B, C (so the code is written as AB C with each of A,B,C ∈ [00,99]).
- Let
f(X)= the sum of digits ofX(for examplef(73)=7+3=10). - The three conditions that must simultaneously hold are:
- (I)
A × f(B) = B × f(A) - 9 - (II)
B × f(C) = C × f(B) + 81 - (III)
A + B + C = 120
- (I)
- Additionally: write the six digits in a circle and read every second digit (positions 1,3,5 as a 3-digit number=M and positions 2,4,6 as 3-digit number=N). The first is exactly twice the second:
M = 2 × N.
Example code format: AB C — leading zeros allowed (e.g.
04 07 88 means digits 0 4 0 7 8 8).Post your proof — not just a guess — for leaderboard credit.
Submit your solution & proof
Enter the 6-digit code (no spaces) and paste a short proof or steps (2–6 lines). We’ll show a local leaderboard of submissions on this page.
